Monster Notes



Watch your step! These helpless creatures can be pretty tough to notice unless you're looking for them. If their larger relatives don't make you nervous, these worms can serve as a moderate source of silk.

Baby Silk Worms do not attack and have very low health.

A small, furry mammal with a pink nose and long ears. With a quick, agile hop, the bunny's fluffy tail bobs as it explores its surroundings with boundless energy and charm.

A large, nimble hare with powerful legs. The Jackrabbit's sleek body darts across the landscape as its long ears keep it alert to the sounds of passing players.

With a quiet, graceful step this shy female deer glides along grassy areas of Oakwood while her large, gentle eyes scan the surroundings and delicate ears twitch at the slightest rustle.

This young male deer navigates with a confident, agile stride and with his budding antlers held high.

A mature male deer distinguished by its impressive antlers and powerful physique.

A feral pig with sharp tusks and coarse hair. As you might expect, boars prefer the muddy expanse of the Swine Pits but they tend to stay clear of the Warthog area at the east end.

An aggressive, muscular boar with distinct red eyes. Warthogs gather in the shady tree wrapped area at the east side of the Swine Pits.

A large bird of prey known for its bald head and scavenging behavior. Some may take their proximity to the Bone Mines as a foreboding for what lurks inside.

A bare-bones lesser skeleton that patrols outside the mine entrance in Oakwood. Despite its fragile appearance, this bag of bones is still plenty capable of inflicting damage on the ill-prepared.

A bony frame crowned by a vivid yellow mining helmet that stands out starkly against the darkness of the mines.

These skeletal workers are known to carry a wide assortment of loot (see drops below).

The lowest ranking Greenflock soldier equipped with a bow for ranged attack. Greenflock Private has a medium skin tone and wears a beret with blue tassel.

An intimidating skeletal figure guarding entry to the Bone Mines west tunnels.

The Skeletal Miner wields a pickaxe and occasionally strikes the ground with enough force to cause boulders to fall from above. Players are warned by a red circle before a boulder drops, giving them a chance to dodge.

A much tougher "regular" skeleton than those found near the mine entrance.

A chilling reanimated canine skeleton, devoid of flesh and fur. The skeletal dog moves with a disturbing gait, its bony limbs articulate smoothly as if driven by an unseen force.

A nocturnal predator of the underground. With its sleek form and agile flight, the cave bat is a master of the Bone Mine's dark embrace.

A bony sorcerer with lumin shards embeded in its skull. The Skeletal Mage wields a lumin infused wand and fires powerful blue orbs for ranged attack.

A haunting skeletal figure adorned with a rare and coveted red mining helmet that stands out against the dimly lit rocky backdrop.

A sturdy male sheep with signature curved horns found in the west fields of Stone Glade.

The ram will not attack unless provoked.

A seasoned Greenflock soldier equipped with a bow for ranged attack. Greenflock Sergeant 1 has a darker skin tone and wears a beret with blue tassel.

A fully grown adult silk worm with rows of razor sharp teeth. It spits a toxic substance as a primary (ranged) attack. Silk worms tend to move slowly but they're well equipped to defend themselves when threatened.

A particularly menacing stag with piercing blue eyes. The Elder Stag has the potential to spawn in place of common stags in Oakwood.

 

As an alternative to the chance-spawn method, you can summon an Elder Stag by placing a Deer Guardian Offering on the shrine in the Stag Area (see map).

A notably robust warthog with a prominent ridge of bristly hair along its back. The Razorback has the potential to spawn in place of common warthogs in the Swine Pits of Oakwood.

 

As an alternative to the chance-spawn method, you can summon a Razorback by placing a Boar Guardian Offering on the shrine in the Swine Pits (see map).

An especially sinister looking uncommon vulture found in north Oakwood. Blight has the potential to spawn in place of common vultures in north Oakwood.

 

As an alternative to the chance-spawn method, you can summon Blight by placing a Vulture Guardian Offering on the shrine in the Vulture Area (see map).

A dark skeletal dog with sharp teeth and mesmerizing purple eyes found in the west tunnels of the Bone Mines.

Bones has a small chance to spawn in place of a common skeletal dog in the west tunnels.

Bones does not have a shrine.

A superior Greenflock soldier equipped with a bow for ranged attack. Greenflock Lieutenant has a darker skin tone and wears a beret with orange tassel.

An uncharacteristically aggressive sheep found in the fields of Stone Glade. The Black Sheep has the potential to replace the spawn of a normal sheep or ram in Stone Glade and does not have a shrine from which to make offerings.

The Black Sheep will not attack unless provoked.

A large tortoise with a shell resembling intricate weathered stone. Its tiny turquoise eyes gleam with a timeless wisdom.

 

You can summon Stone Jaw by placing a River Guardian Offering on the shrine to the east of the Bone Mines entrance in Stone Glade (see map). This is the only way to attract or encounter Stone Jaw.

A much larger, supernatural canine skeleton. At half health, Canis will turn red and enter a 'frenzy' mode and start rapidly hurling large bones that can temporarily trap players if they hit their mark.

Bosses no longer spawn routinely, but you can summon Canis by placing a Blood Offering on the shrine in Feasting Den (see map).

Players can spawn multiple bosses at a time, as long as they have the offerings. The player who makes the offering is the only one eligible to gain aggro once spawned.

Players can be grouped to fight Canis, but if the summoning player leaves the room or dies during combat it will regain full health. If the summoning player logs off, Canis will disappear.

A towering and terrifying skeletal force residing in the 'Well of Sorrow' at the center of Miner's Hollow.

Bees will randomly spawn while woodcutting or gathering berries. Once spawned, they will not move or follow but they will continuously attack the individual who triggered them (scalable damage) if they don't move.

Bees cannot be killed, but they will disappear on their own after about 30 seconds.

Woodpeckers will randomly spawn while woodcutting or gathering berries. Once spawned, they will follow the individual who triggered them and attack (scalable damage) until killed by that player.

Despite assuming the level of any normal monster spawn, this fragile bloom is harmless to even the weakest.

The Dryad Bloom is only available during the Dryad Bloom Festival event in celebration of Heartwood's anniversary.

The Naughty Elf is currently an inactive monster. They only existed during the 2023 Winterforge Event which ran from 25 Dec, 2023 to 5 Jan, 2024. The elves dropped 5 different items which were used to complete several Event Quests.

Fun Fact!

At the start of Winterforge, the Naughty Elf population was low and manageable but as we neared the end of the event players found themselves in a sea of elves in almost every corner of Heartwood (see screenshot above)!
